G&F Enacts Fire Ban on Commission Owned and Administered Lands

With the dry conditions and the local county fire restrictions, the Wyoming Game and Fish Department is banning open fires on all Game and Fish Commission-owned and administered lands within the Sheridan Region. These lands include the Kerns, Amsden, Bud Love and Ed O. Taylor Wildlife Habitat Management Areas and all Commission owned and administered Public Access Areas, including Tongue River Canyon and Monument PAA’s.

Game and Fish Information Specialist for the Sheridan Region Bud Stewart says the fire ban is in effect to protect the wildlife and their habitat areas and follows suit with current Sheridan, Johnson, and Crook County fire bans.

Stewart said that if anyone has any questions regarding the fire ban, they can contact the Sheridan Region Game and Fish Office at 307-672-7418.
