The “Get Out and Shop” fundraiser for the Philanthropic Education Organization is this Saturday.

The event, in its seventh year, allows locals to shop for variety of items from local vendors. The fundraiser will be held at the Sheridan High School building, located on Long Drive. Doors open at 9 a.m. and the event is over at 4 in the afternoon.

Co-organizer Nadine Gale said the event has over 35 vendors signed on including local businesses and home-based entrepreneurs.

The event raises money for the Philanthropic Educational Organization (or the PEO), an international women’s organization that focuses on providing opportunities for females pursuing an education.

There are four PEO chapters in Sheridan and one in Buffalo, Gale said, and though the money will fund the national organization, it will also fund local projects.

There will be an informational booth about the organization at the event, for those who are interested.
