A local chapter of a international women’s organization, will be hosting a fundraiser next weekend. Hannah Stepenoff has the details.

The “Get Out and Shop” fundraiser is fast approaching. Coordinators Liz and Nadine Gale recently came on our news talk show Public Pulse to discuss the event, which features local vendors selling everything from essential oils to pet products. The event is scheduled from 9 to 4 p.m. on Saturday March 14 at the Sheridan High School building, located on Long Drive.

Nadine Gail said the event, which was established seven years ago, is a way to allow locals to shop for a variety of items from numerous local businesses and also home-based entrepreneurs.

The event raises money for the Philanthropic Educational Organization (or the PEO) of which both women are members. The international women’s organization focuses on providing opportunities for females pursuing an education. The two women gave more details about the organization.

There are four PEO chapters in Sheridan and one in Buffalo, Nadine Gale said, and though the money will fund the national organization, it will also fund local projects.

There will be an informational booth about the organization at the event for those who are interested.
