Game and Fish Seeks Comment on Sheridan Region Objectives

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will hold public meetings to review and discuss big game herd management objectives in the Sheridan region.

Organizers say the meetings will address the North Bighorn mule deer herd, pronghorn antelope herds in Clearmont, Ucross and Beckton, and white-tailed deer in the Powder River area.

The first meeting will be held on Tuesday night (May 27) in Buffalo, at the Johnson County Fire District meeting room at 709 Volunteer Lane, and the next on Wednesday night (May 28) in Sheridan, at the Game & Fish Regional Office on Valley View off Fifth Street. Both will start at 7 o'clock.

The specific hunt areas are: the North Bighorn mule deer herd includes hunt areas 24, 25, 27 and 28 on the east side of the Bighorn Mountains, and areas 50 through 53 on the west side. The antelope herds include hunt areas 10, 15, 16 and 109. The white-tailed deer herd consists of hunt areas 17 through 20, 23 through 33, 163 and 169.
