The outdoor swimming pool has been a mainstay in Kendrick Park for over 75 years. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter takes a look at what is in the immediate future for the pool.

During Monday night’s Sheridan City Council meeting, Sheridan Recreation District Executive Director Richard Wright, speaking on behalf of the Board of Trustees for the Rec. District, stated to the council that they are in full support of the proposed $12.5 million outdoor aquatics center that will be located on the south end of the Sheridan County YMCA on Jefferson Street. Wright did however, take the time to clear the air regarding the immediate future of Kendrick Park pool.

Sheridan Public Works Director Nic Bateson said that the long term future of the pool remains uncertain at this time.

Mayor John Heath made it clear at the meeting that he’d like to see both the aquatics center and the pool in Kendrick park as part of Sheridan’s future.
