Fundraiser Set for Child Hit by Train

A fundraiser is set for Saturday at Luminous Brewhouse on Broadway for a Sheridan boy hit by a train on July 10.

John Fath, the father of Hudson Fath, said the event will be from noon until closing and will include a live auction and raffle. Fath said there are three main prizes in the raffle – two $500 gift baskets and a $1,000 gift basket – along with numerous other prizes worth $25 and up.

Fath said his son, then two and a half years old, was struck by a train at the First Street railroad crossing. He said he can't discuss details of the incident because of pending litigation, but the family continues to travel from Sheridan to Denver because of Hudson's hearing.

Fath said both of the child's eye sockets were fractured in the incident, as well as his jaw, the right side of his face and the base of his skull. He said the boy also sustained multiple abrasions all over his body.

Fath said the family is also still concerned about the possibility of brain damage. The accident was investigated by the Sheridan police department, the Wyoming Highway Patrol and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway Company.
