Friday Declared 'WEAR PINK' Day by Hospital

Sheridan Memorial Hospital has declared Friday WEAR PINK Day in support of breast cancer awareness.

Ada Kirven, who's director of donor relations for Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation, said the event is an opportunity for everyone, from children to adults, to wear pink to school, work and play. She said October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and noted that many businesses are decorated in pink.

She said with the 10th annual run/walk, The Link – Partners in Pink, coming up Saturday at Whitney Commons, WEAR PINK Day is a great way to get the community jazzed about the event and the cause.

Kirven said proceeds from this year's run/walk will be used to support early cancer detection and screening for patients in the community.

Kirven said the foundation is hoping for a record number of participants Saturday, and added people can still register for the event at the hospital's website. Just go to sheridanhospital.org/link.
