Freudenthal Announces Government Transparency Website

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The state of Wyoming has launched a Web site intended to give citizens easier access to information about the state's finances. The new site will provide information about state budgets, investments, annual reports and other documents and information.

Freudenthal says economic conditions in Wyoming and elsewhere make it important for people to be able to research what state government is doing and make sure it's using resources in the best possible way.

Representative Sue Wallis, a Republican from Recluse, sponsored legislation to create the site. She says she sees it as a first step to providing more transparency on government finances.
