Free Landfill Days Continues Today, Saturday

The annual Free Landfill Days for both the City of Buffalo and Johnson County will continue today and wrap up on Saturday.

Each year, city and county governments pay the fees for residents to clean up their properties and take their refuse to the county landfill. A voucher issues by city hall or the county courthouse is all that is needed and can be used by the resident for as many trips as needed during the four-day event.

City residents can take a water bill and information for the vehicle that will be used to haul the refuse to the landfill; and county residents can take the license plate number of the vehicle that will be used to the Treasurer's Office to get their voucher.

Vouchers will be available at the governmental offices until 5pm this afternoon.

The landfill will take any items they normally take during the free days.
