Free Counseling for Abuse Victims

The University of Wyoming is using a new tele-health program to offer free counseling to victims of partner violence and sexual assault in Campbell, Carbon and Laramie counties. Psychology Professor Matt Gray says such mental health treatment is an important service in a rural state like Wyoming.

Verizon Foundation has contributed more than 34-thousand dollars for the program, administered by the UW Department of Psychology. Faculty and students offer counseling for mental health problems such as schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, suicide tendencies and bullying in schools.
