The Johnson County Healthcare Center's Family Medical Center will be having flu vaccine clinics in both Buffalo and Kaycee in the coming weeks.

JCHC Marketing Director Marcy Schueler said getting the flu vaccine annually not only protects the person getting the vaccine, but members of the community as well.

The clinics will be in Buffalo at the Family Clinic on Tuesday, October 15th and again on Friday, October 18th from 9am until noon.

The Kaycee Clinic will be offering their flu vaccine clinic on Wednesday, October 30th also from 9am until noon.

According to the JCHC, flu virus can pass from person to person from up to 6 feet away in conversation, and can live for up to 24 hours on surfaces.
Again they recommend getting a flu shot, stay home if you are sick, cover your cough and wash hands frequently.

The cost of the high-dose vaccine is $79, the cost for regular adult dose is $45, and are 100% covered by most insurance providers and Medicare and Medicaid.
