Flu Clinics Continue Throughout The Month In Sheridan County

Earlier this week Sheridan County Community Health had to cancel a flu clinic but more vaccines are arriving daily. They have scheduled several upcoming clinics to offer inoculations for the seasonal flu strains. Deliveries of the H1N1 vaccines are still behind schedule.

Overall, the community has seen an increase in reported flu cases over the last few weeks and several of those have been confirmed as swine flu. Sheridan County School District #2 has also had confirmed cases of the H1N1 strain in its students. However, Public Health Response Coordinator Bobbie Spahn says it’s not an alarming situation.

The number of cases seems high but it’s because of the timing. There are not any more cases of flu than normal peak flu season illnesses. The highest numbers are usually reported later in the winter.
