Flash Flood Warning In Effect For Johnson County

A Flash Flood Warning for west central Johnson County has been extended to 5:00 am Wednesday

At 5:08 pm, the National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall across the area. Radar estimates exceed 7 inches of rainfall during the life of this storm.

Runoff from this excessive rainfall will cause flash flooding to occur. Some locations that will experience flooding include...Mayoworth and state Hwy 191 mile marker 10. The flood wave is expected to travel toward the Middle Fork of the Powder River and eventually on to Kaycee.

A Flash Flood Warning means flash flooding is imminent or occurring. If you are in the warning area, move to higher ground immediately. Residents along creeks and streams should take precautions to protect life and property.
