First Fire of the Year in the Bighorns

First Fire of the Year in the Bighorns

Spring has clearly arrived as the past few days in Sheridan have been warm and beautiful. With spring brings humans recreating in the Bighorn Mountains and according to Susie Douglas, Public Affairs Specialist with the Bighorn National Forest, the first fire of the year was reported.

Douglas said that although the trail is not officially closed, they are asking residents to avoid the trail for a few days. She also said this is a reminder that fires can start easily, even if it is early in the season.

We will have more information on the cause of this fire when it becomes available.
