Several new fires are burning in Yellowstone National Park.

Five new fires have been discovered in Yellowstone National Park, which now brings the total of fires reported in the park this year to 14. Yellowstone Public Information Officer Al Nash says that all of the fires are relatively small in size.

Nash said that the five fires will be managed as the Heart Complex, and that firefighters have set up structure protection at the Heart Lake Patrol Cabin, which is about a mile from the heel of the Heart Fire. Nash indicated that the fire danger in Yellowstone remains “Very High” and visitors are encouraged to be careful with campfires, grills, camp stoves and smoking materials.
