Firefighters with Sheridan Fire-Rescue began raising funds last fall for a life-sized statue to honor Captain Ed Green, who was a member of the Sheridan Fire Department for 26 years. Sheridan Fire-Rescue Captain Greg Luhman updates us on where they are at in raising the needed funds.

Plans are to incorporate the 911 artifact and a memorial for Chief Fred Tossie into the display as well. As far as how you can make a tax deductible donation to the statue fund?

When finished, the statue will be placed in front of the Fire Station near the corner of Scott Street and Works. While there is no time-line on when the funds need to be raised, Luhman said that they'd like to unveil at least one piece on September 11 this year, if not the statue, then perhaps the 911 artifact.
