Firefighters Called to College

Sheridan Fire and Rescue was called to Sheridan College, and the college's Whitney building on Coffeen Avenue in Sheridan was evacuated after an alarm went off in the building shortly before 9 Friday morning.

No fire was found, and Captain Robert Dobbs said the call was a false alarm triggered when an alarm system malfunctioned.

He said the alarm was in an area where workers are constructing the college's new art wing.
