Field of Honor Planned for Sheridan

Several social clubs in Sheridan County have joined together in hopes of raising $25,000 to help service members who were injured in war.

Carla Klopfenstein, organizer, explains.

The five-foot flags are $35 each, and can be dedicated in the name of a veteran, emergency responder, or others who have taken on the role of hero at some point in their lives. The actual “Field of Honor” will be on display August 9 during the opening ceremony for the new Whitney building. Jesus Rios is also helping coordinate the event.

Flags can be purchased via Sheridan's Rotary Club, or online at The group is also looking for volunteers to help set up the disply the evening of August 8. For more information, contact Carla at 673-1183.
