Families Pack the Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall in Support of Dogs and Cats

by Judy Hagerott

If attendance was any indication, Saturday night's Dog and Cat Shelter's Family Fun Night should be deemed a huge success, as the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall was packed with 350 to 400 people for the event. Live music, a homemade chili feed, a bucket raffle, a live and silent auction, plus several children's games were highlights of the evening.

Shelter Director Cel Hope said she was overwhelmed and grateful for the generosity of so many people who want to help with the homeless animals.

The shelter must raise over 80% of its funding, and Shelter Director Cel Hope says they estimate they raised about $16,000 from the event.
