Fairboard Considers Future Of Infield Restrooms

Phase one of the Sheridan County Fairgrounds Master Plan is underway and it will significantly improve drainage at the fairgrounds. Phase one calls for the removal of the restrooms in the infield area, however; County Commissioner Steve Maier stated that there wouldn't be enough funding available in the upcoming budget to cover the cost of building new restrooms at this time.

The Fairboard voted to stick with the contract as scheduled, which would in turn eliminate the infield restrooms. Fairboard Member James Bohnsack says doing away with the restrooms is all part of the Master Plan.

Until funding can be secured for the construction of new infield restrooms, porta potties will be used in the meantime. The Fairboard also set a tentative date of March 9th to meet with the various user groups of the Fairgrounds.
