Thirty-six tour operators from Italy were in Buffalo Tuesday to see what the town has to offer their customers who may decide to tour the area in the future.

Jennifer McCormick, with the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, explains more about what the tour operators are doing.

Some of the highlights of the tour operators' stay in Buffalo included dinner at the Virginian, touring the town, and stopping at some of the local stores and shops that stayed open late for the occasion.

The chamber of commerce, with the help of the Johnson County Tourism Association, has attended the Rocky Mountain International's International Roundup conventions for a number of years, and this stop in Buffalo by the 36 tour operators from Italy is part of the benefits they have seen from attending.

McCormick said the city and county will likely see an increase in tourism from Italy in the coming years.

The payoff may come as soon as next summer.
