The Restoring American Financial Stability Act has garnered a lot of attention in Washington. The stated aim of the bill, proposed by U.S. Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd, is to “improve accountability and transparency in the financial system and end 'too big to fail,' to protect the American taxpayer by ending bailouts and to protect consumers from abusive financial services practices.” The proposed legislation passed the U.S. Senate this week—but not without a lot of opposition from lawmakers, including Wyoming's U.S. Senator Mike Enzi

The bill passed the U.S. Senate by a vote of 59-39.
