Enzi Seeks Wyoming Applicants for Senate Pages

U.S. Sen. Mike Enzi of Wyoming is seeking Wyoming high school students to apply for 30 Senate page positions for the summer sessions in Washington, D.C.

Enzi said the deadline for summer applications is March 1. He said the page program allows students to have a front-row seat during debates in the U.S. Senate, giving participants in the program experiences that they will carry with them forever.

Enzi said the duties of a page consist primarily of delivering correspondence and legislative material at the Capitol. But other duties include preparing the Senate chamber for sessions and carrying bills and amendments to the appropriate people on the Senate floor. Summer page eligibility is limited to high school juniors and seniors who will be 16 or 17 years old on or before the date of the appointment. Applicants must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Enzi said pages live in Webster Hall, which is near the Capitol, and receive a stipend to cover the cost of the residence. Breakfast and dinner are provided each day. He said the first summer session will be from June 12 to June 30, and the second session from July 10 to July 28. The application and additional information may be found online at www.enzie.senate.gov.
