Emerson Commons Gets Second Run At City Council

Several months ago, the Sheridan City Council did not take action on a community development block grant and planned unit development request for Emerson Commons. At the time the Sheridan Housing Action Committee had proposed to develop the property with a 10 unit residential complex. Now SHAC is no longer involved and the owner is asking for a subdivision into two lots so that the property is easier to sell. City Councilor Ryan Mulholland:

There were several comments from area residents that strongly opposed any support of SHAC. However, SHAC no longer has any interest in the property. Bruce Burns owns the property:

After over an hour and a half of discussion, the Council approved the subdivision in a unanimous vote. Both Councilors Brantz and Ketcham were absent.
