Tuesday night's temporary -- and voluntary -- evacuation of residents of Downer Addition in Sheridan County was caused by the storm that brought heavy rain to much of the County late afternoon and early evening.

Sheridan County Emergency management Coordinator Dave Coleman explains that the Soldier Creek area received a lot of rain and that Tuesday's storm has affected all of the waterways within the County.

Coleman says that when and if it becomes time, they are ready to issue a disaster declaration.

Coleman wanted to advise residents to use extreme caution while traveling on county roads.

Emergency Management officials with Sheridan County and the City of Sheridan continue to meet daily to address the current flood situation.
