The four co-authors of two books based on the diaries of Elsa Spear Byron will sign copies of the books Saturday at Sheridan Stationery.

Judy Slack, one of the co-authors, said the event will be from 11 a.m till 1 p.m. The first book covers a period from the early 1880s to 1906 and includes diaries of Byron's parents and grandparents as well as Byron's first diary, when she was 10 years old. Book Two covers the years from 1907 to 1911.

Slack said the co-authors hope is to eventually publish 10 volumes of diaries.

The other co-authors are Sandi Ziler, Mona Brown and Mary Dailey.

Slack said if they can publish all 10 volumes, they will cover the years through 1922. Slack said the second book also includes a DVD which contains an interview with Byron and a power point presentation by Slack and Bilyeu on a 1911 pack trip and stories told by Bilyeu about her mother.

Slack said the books are $40 each, $70 if purchased as a set, and all proceeds will go to the Big Horn City Historical Society and the Bozeman Trail Museum.

In addition to the book signing Saturday, Slack said the books will be available at the Big Horn Woman's Club bazaar in Big Horn on Nov. 11 and at the Holiday Inn Gift Bazaar in Sheridan on Nov. 18. She said the books will also be for sale throughout the year at Killy's Spirits.
