Area youth competed for cash and other prizes in the two-day Elks Youth Rodeo at the Sheridan County Fairgrounds this weekend.

This was the 22nd year for the event, which is for youngsters from under 6 to 17 years old. Competition was in four age groups, from pee wees to seniors and included pole bending, barrel racing and goat-tail tying for all ages, up to break-away roping, steer stopping, ribbon-roping and tie-down calf roping for the older youth.
