The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting for November Wednesday, due to the Thanksgiving holiday last week.

At the meeting, the Board learned that the vendor search for a new Electronic Health Record Information System has been narrowed from four to two. Hospital CEO Mike McCafferty explains that the process with the two vendors will continue next week.

McCafferty stated that the on-site visits will be to nearby hospitals that are using the two vendors. Right now the initial purchase price from both vendors is nearly the same -- right around $7.3 million, with annual maintenance costs ranging from $300,000 to $350,000.

McCafferty also updated the Board on the site plans for the expansion to the Welch Cancer Center. He said that KWN Construction will have cost estimates for the project early next week, and that it will include a guaranteed maximum price.

While the size of the facility is still not yet finalized, McCafferty estimated that it's looking like it will be in the range of a 16,000 to 17,000 square foot expansion.
