Johnson County Clerk Vicki Edelman said in her recent year-end report to the county commissioners that 2017 was a busy year, with her office wrapping up the 2016 election results, normal county document processing and preparing for the upcoming 2018 elections.

She said the clerk's office finally wrapped up the elections records in mid-February, but found some problems with the voter rolls.
One felon was found to have voted in the county. That person was notified and removed from the voters list and the information was sent to the county attorney's office for follow-up.

Two other persons that were potentially non-citizens also voted in the election, but they came in with naturalization documents and were added to the voters rolls.
She said the county has a good, clean voters list going into this year's election.

Edelman touched on some of the other things the office got done during the year.

They also transferred data from the archives onto the Archisearch website, and hope to get started scanning and digitizing old title documents and getting rid of the old paper copies.

Her office is short one person, but they are gearing up for a busy election year later in 2018.
