Officers with the Sheridan Police Department along with Rocky Mountain Ambulance and Sheridan Fire Rescue responded to a crash on 5th and Main this morning shortly after 8 o’clock. According to Sheridan Police Officer Adam Balthazor, the crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcycle.

Balthazor said the motorcycle was traveling north on Main Street and the truck was southbound on Main when the driver of the truck attempted to turn left onto East 5th Street. He said the motorcycle had the right-of-way and that the truck turned into the path of the motorcycle, resulting in significant injuries to both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle.

The husband and wife couple were taken by ambulance to Sheridan Memorial Hospital, where the male was life-flighted to a Billings hospital. The passenger was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Balthazor said an impaired driving test on the male driver of the truck was negative and that the individual was cited for Failure to Yield and an Obstructed Windshield. The names and location of those involved could not be released at this time, as the crash remains under investigation. We’ll have more information as it becomes available.
