The Early Childhood Symposium that started Thursday at Sheridan College continued through Friday afternoon.

Coordinator Michelle Sullivan said this year's event was called “Building Communities Where Children and Families Thrive,” and speakers included Dr. Allen Gee of Cody.

Sullivan said participants Friday morning talked a lot about the science of early childhood.

Sullivan said there also have been special sessions for early care providers, preschool teachers and the medical community. She said participants Friday afternoon would do some design thinking about how to take what they've learned during the symposium and integrate it into their work and community.
