The winner of this year's Kiwanis Duck Race has been revealed.

Rodney Lindberg, a college student and summer intern at 609 Consultants learned Monday morning that he was the holder of ticket 173, the number of the duck that finished ahead of the flock last Friday in Kendrick Park.

There was confusion last week because Brian Venn, the boss at the Sheridan company, purchased several tickets and distributed them among his employees. Only the company's name was listed on the ticket purchase stubs.

Lindberg in an interview with Sheridan Media on Monday afternoon praised the rubber fowl that carried his number across the finish line.

First prize was $500.

The winner is a Sheridan native taking engineering classes at the University of Wyoming. He will be a senior in the fall. This is his second year to intern with the Sheridan company. He is married, and he and his wife have three children.
