Drumm Has Mixed Feelings About Leaving Sheridan College

Sheridan College President Dr. Kevin Drumm announced Tuesday that he would be leaving the Northern Wyoming Community College District to become the president of Broome College in New York. Earlier this year Drumm was considered for two other executive positions. Drumm says leaving was one of the hardest decisions he ever had to make.

Drumm also cited retirement concerns in his decision to accept the Broome offer. He feels Sheridan College is on the right track and will do well, despite his departure in the middle of the school year.

The NWCCD Board of Trustees met last night and decided to accept applications from current executive staff for the position of interim president. Board Chairman Bruce Hoffman…

The board will review the applications after December 7th and hopes to beat the January deadline and possibly make the choice at their December 17th board meeting.

Hoffman said he wouldn’t be surprised if the search for Drumm’s permanent replacement takes anywhere from 6 to 18 months.
