Drug Take-Back Event Saturday In Buffalo

A Drug Take-Back event will be happening this weekend in Buffalo for those who have unused, unwanted, or expired medications to safely and responsibly dispose of them.

Members of the Johnson County Prevention Council, Johnson County Sheriff's Office, Buffalo Police Department and the Johnson County Public Health Office will be taking medications dropped off by community members during the Johnson County Health Fair this Saturday.

Most medications can be accepted, but they cannot accept needles and sharps; mercury (thermometers); oxygen containers; chemotherapy medicines; radioactive substances; pressurized containers; and liquids and creams.

Medications will be taken during the Health Fair this Saturday from 9 until noon at the Johnson County Fairgrounds.

Unwanted or unused medications can be taken at any time to the drop box in the lobby of the Buffalo/Johnson County Criminal Justice Center.
