Dr. Batty an Employee of Hospital

Dr. Hugh Batty is an employee of Sheridan Memorial Hospital, which also owns the Soldier Creek Medical Center that Batty is associated with.

That's according to hospital CEO Mike McCafferty, who was interviewed recently by Sheridan Media to clarify the relationship between the hospital, the medical clinic and Dr. Batty.

The Soldier Creek Medical Center offices were relocated to the hospital last month, although a letter sent to Dr. Batty's patients on July 12 stated that patients of the clinic could still call the Soldier Creek phone number to speak with staff. McCaffery in the interview this week said the hospital has owned Soldier Creek Medical, and employed Dr. Batty on hospital staff, since 2012.

He said in the meantime, the hospital has a lot of options for patients to access physicians and other health care providers by calling Soldier Creek Medical.

In the meantime, he said, Dr. Batty is employed by the hospital and part of the hospital's planning.

He said Dr. Batty is the primary physician-provider at Soldier Creek. A news release from the hospital last month stated the hospital had moved Soldier Creek Medical into the hospital as part of a reorganization of the hospital's medical practices.
