Donations Sought For Firefighters Killed In Arizona Wildfire

The Buffalo Chamber of Commerce sent out information today on a local Buffalo business that is trying to help families of 18 firefighters that were killed Sunday while battling a wildfire in central Arizona.

They were members of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, based in Prescott, Arizona.
According to the Buffalo Chamber, many of the firefighters had strong ties to the Prescott area community; owning homes, participating in community and church activities, and many grew up in the small town which is surrounded by national forest.
Jeff and Amy Sawyer, owners of Wahoo Frontier Toppings/Johnny Midnite, recently moved to Buffalo from the Prescott area.
Jeff explains what prompted them to decide to take donations for the families of the firefighters.
Jeff said the turnout so far from the Buffalo community has been great with hits on Facebook and many stopping by the store.

The Sawyers have a donation bucket in their store at 68 E. Fetterman and all donations will go to the 100 Club of Arizona, an organization that assists families of fallen public safety employees.
Their store hours are Monday through Friday 10-6, Saturday from 10-4, and 12-4 on Sunday.

They will be accepting donations through the Fourth-of-July weekend.
