Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.


The Advocacy and Resource Center of Sheridan has a number of events scheduled to help bring awareness about Domestic Violence Awareness Month. ARC Assistant Director Rhonda Weber.

Bingo at Black Tooth Wednesday night will be at 7 o’clock. Weber said that on Thursday night they will be giving their first ever “Advocacy in Action” award to Lauren Fish-Ashcraft.

Weber said that then, on Saturday, October 12, they will be holding their annual March Against Family Violence. The march will begin at 9 am in the US Bank parking lot and end at Whitney Commons.

Weber shares some data regarding the number of victims of domestic violence they serve each year.

Representatives with ARC will be guests on the second half of Tuesday’s Public Pulse program on News Talk 9-30 KROE. The second half of the program typically airs at around 9:30 am.
