Sheridan County School District One and Three canceled their school day Thursday due to the recent blast of winter we received. The fact that School District Two elected not to scrap the day had some parents wondering why. Superintendent Craig Dougherty explains what's done to determine if the school day should be canceled or not.

Since most of District Two students live within the City, Dougherty and his team also travel around the within the City to make sure that the routes are safe.

While safety is the first concern, there is also the reality of having to make up snow days, which can send the end of the school year into the month of June.
