Sheridan County School District 2 personnel are working with contractors and engineers to resolve a drainage issue at the new Henry A. Coffeen Elementary School.

School Administrator Craig Dougherty said there is excess water on the playground lawn, and that efforts are under way to find, and fix, the source of the problem.

Other than that, he said, the new elementary facility is a super-gorgeous school. He added,

“Nickie” is Nicole Trahan, principal of the school.

The superintendent said Phase II of the Sheridan High School renovation is basically complete. TSP Inc. of Sheridan will present a schematic design for the renovated training areas at the high school at the board's October meeting.

Work is finished to replace the roof at the Early Building. The building is on the Sheridan Junior High School campus and has been used by the district's alternative schools. Those schools have now been moved to the old Highland Park School, and the junior high school staff has moved into the Early Building.

The superintendent said the district will work with Wyoming's School Facility Commission to secure funds for construction of a new facility for Fort Mackenzie High School and The Wright Place. The district is also seeking funds from the commission for complete renovation of Sagebrush Elementary School.
