Wednesday a budget amendment that would have restored the remaining 4% of the 10% funding cuts to agencies around the state that work with the developmentally disabled failed in the House. The cuts were made nearly three years ago during the Freudenthal Administration. Thursday an amendment asking to restore 2% of the funding also failed. We caught up with RENEW CEO Larry Samson via cell phone en route back from the State's Capital.

Samson says that their efforts in getting the funding restored isn't an issue that will be going away anytime soon.

Samson did indicate that a three year old error was corrected in Cheyenne.

Samson said that he was pleased that the additional two weeks were added, but that he was truly disappointed in the legislature's decision not to restore the funding cuts that were handed down several years ago. Representative for House District 30 Jon Botten co-sponsored the amendment.
