Deputies Respond to Crash, Weapons Incidents

The local sheriff's office responded to a personal injury crash over the weekend and dealt with two incidents involving weapons. Leslie Stratmoen provides the follow-up report.

A man was arrested over the weekend for shooting a gun in a residential area, three people were injured in a crash on a forest service road and a burglary was reported. The information is coming from Lt. Mark Conrad of the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office.

He said no one was injured in the shooting incident, which was reported just before midnight, Sunday, on School Street in Clearmont.

He identified the shooter as 51-year-old Richard Bell.

The vehicle crashed on a road, more commonly known, he said, as Burgess or Dayton Gulch.

As for the burglary, he said, that was in the Willow Creek Drainage area near Park Reservoir, and was reported after the fact.

The burglary report came in Monday morning, a few minutes after 9:30.
