A plan for dealing with non-responding residences in regard to the City of Sheridan’s water meter system replacement project was presented Monday night at a Sheridan City Council study session. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter was there and has the details.

The City’s water meter system replacement project began in October of last year and is on schedule to be complete later this year in August. City Utilities Director Dan Roberts told the Council that the project is 57 percent complete and that they’ve put together a plan in handling residents who have not been compliant in having their meter system replaced.

Roberts said that over the next month, non-compliant residents will continue to be contacted about doing their part in helping finish the project. He said that in mid April, those that continue to be non-responsive will receive a notice of service disruption, and then ultimately have their water shut-off if they refuse to work with the contractor who’s replacing the water meters.
