Dayton Town Council Receives Four Bids to Install New Bridge

The Dayton Town Council met last night and went through a short agenda. Dayton Mayor Bob Wood tells us about the bids that came in for a new bridge that will be installed over the Tongue River at Canyon Road to allow a second access to the Dayton Water Plant.

If the Fletcher Construction bid passes muster with engineers, Mayor Wood hopes the bridge can be installed soon, while the water level is low.

The access to the facility has up to this point been on an easement through the IXL Ranch property. While that will continue to be used, Mayor Wood says the bridge access will remove the majority of traffic from the ranch property, and will also fulfill Homeland Security requirements for an emergency access to the water plant.

In other business, the mayor says the Council set a Budget Workshop for January 12th at 7 pm, as the Town's tax dollars are not keeping up with expenses as a result of the economy's effect on incoming revenue.

Where are all these new trucks? I do believe the town should have a van for town purposes. If you do not like what is going for council or mayor and make the changes...or just continue whining. I am sure the latter takes less effort.

This is why we have no money!

We have no money in Dayton due to the fact that every town employee has to have a new truck to drive home, a new mini-van to drive to town in, and a huge waste of money on a ugly electronic sign! This is just a few examples of the wasteful spending that occures in Dayton!
