The 42nd annual Dayton Days will kick-off this Friday with a number of events including the “cow pie classic,” a barbecue, children’s pet parade and a movie in the park at dusk.

One of the organizers for the event, Bob Wood, says that it has become customary to start Dayton Days with the cow pie classic golf tournament.

Wood said that there will be a barbecue for contestants and guests immediately following the tournament. He said that the pet parade for children will take place at 6 pm in Scott Park, followed by the movie. Saturday’s events begin at 6:30 am with the Rotary Pancake Breakfast, followed by a race at 9:45, and the parade at 10. Wood said this year’s Grand Marshal of the parade is Carol Masters.

Following the parade, there will be a number of events throughout the day in the park. Dayton Days will conclude Sunday with a disc golf tournament. Click on the link below for a complete list of Dayton Days events.
