Daylight Saving and Checking Your Smoke Alarm

Posted in

Daylight saving time will come to an end Sunday at 2 am, which means it’s time to turn the clocks back one hour.

Sheridan Fire-Rescue Firefighter/EMT Jerry Johnston says that daylight saving is also the time to check the batteries in your smoke alarms.

Johnston said that it’s also a good idea to replace your smoke detectors if you’ve had them over 10 years. He said that there are smoke alarms with a 10 year battery, which are the kind that they recommend using in your home.
