UPDATE: Crash on North Main Results in Arrest for DUI

At approximately 7:37 Friday morning, officers with the Sheridan Police Department responded to a report of a vehicle crash with injuries on the 1300 block of North Main Street in Sheridan. Upon arrival, officers observed a Dodge Durango facing southeast along the east side of the sidewalk in the 1300 block of North Main Street. Officers also observed a Subaru Impreza across the street from the Durango in the outside south bound lane. The Impreza sustained heavy front end damage and the Durango had heavy rear end damage. Police Lt. Tom Ringley shares the details of the accident.

It was learned that the Durango, which was unoccupied at the time of the crash, had been parked approximately 55 feet south of where it had been located by officers. Further investigation revealed the Impreza had been travelling northbound on North Main Street at a high rate of speed when it collided with the parked Durango. The impact of the crash caused the Impreza to travel across the northbound lanes of the 1300 block of North Main Street, continue across the median and come to a rest facing east in the southbound lanes of travel.

The two occupants of the Impreza, to include the driver and one passenger, were transported to Sheridan Memorial Hospital for unknown injuries. The driver, who was identified as 21-year-old Hunter Cardinal of Banner, was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs and a Sheridan Municipal Court Warrant for Careless Noisy Driving. The case remains under investigation.
