Cow, Sheriff's Vehicle Involved In 'Altercation'

The Johnson County Sheriff's Office was authorized to sell one of its vehicles to Mister R's Auto Salvage of Buffalo after the vehicle was heavily damaged in a crash with a cow.

Commissioner Bill Novotny brought the request before the commissioners, saying the sheriff's vehicle and a cow recently had an “altercation,” in which both the vehicle and the cow “lost.”

The Johnson County Commissioners approved the sale of the wrecked vehicle for $2,300 to Mister R's, which will be deposited into the county's general fund.
