County Rules and Regulations Amended

Amendments to the Sheridan County rules and regulations governing zoning for small wind energy systems were approved this week by the Sheridan County Commissioners. County Planner Mark Reid points out that this doesn't pertain to the large wind turbines that are seen in the southern part of the state.

Reid explains that the amendments were adopted to streamline the process for those looking to put up a small wind energy system on their property.

The amendments add a new subsection to the specific use standards section of the County's rules and regulations that include the setback, color, shadow flicker, code compliance, and abandonment or discontinuation of any and all small wind energy systems.
