County Has Liquor License to Award

Sheridan County has gained a new retail liquor license. Sheridan County Clerk Eda Shunk Thompson announced the new license during Tuesday's county commissioners meeting.

The new license is due to the latest census report which shows Sheridan County's population has grown enough to warrant one more retail license. The information comes from Wyoming's state liquor division.

The county clerk said the license is immediately available, and applications are being taken now. She said the license application will be posted on the county's web site, and the deadline for application is 5 o'clock on June 30. The new license must be more than five miles from the corporate limits of a city or town, and the fee for the license will range from $1,000 to $1,666 for a year. A retail license allows sale of alcoholic and malt beverages for consumption on premise, off-premise or both.
