County Commissioners Seek Re-election

Sheridan County commissioners Mike Nichol and Tom Ringley have filed for re-election.

Both will run on the Republican ticket. Nichol, of Sheridan, and Ringley, who lives in Big Horn, filed for office last week on the opening day. Candidates for federal, state, county and city offices have until May 27 to formally get their names on the ballot in this year's primary elections.

Also filing last week are three candidates for Sheridan mayor and two for the Sheridan city council. Candidates for mayor are Robert Webster, Alex Lee and Jacob Martin. Councilors Thayer Shafer and Shelleen Smith have both filed for re-election.

Dave Kinskey has filed for re-election to Sheridan County's state senate District 22, and Mark Kinner and Rosie Berger have filed for state house districts 29 and 51 respectively. All are Republicans. Republicans Gail Symons and Mark Jennings have filed for state house District 30. Jennings is the incumbent for that seat. In house District 30, incumbent Mike Madden, Republican, and Greg Haas, Democrat, have filed. Both are residents of Buffalo.

County Election Clerk Brenda Kekich said county candidates file in the county office. Federal and state candidates file with the Wyoming Secretary of State, and candidates for municipal offices file with the municipal clerks of their respective towns.
